Welcome to Carl's Archery Adventure!
First off, let me welcome you to our page dedicated to Carl and his love for the sport of archery. Here is a little history. Carl's journey started when he was 5. While he was attending a local sports camp for soccer, his attention was more toward the archers in the next field over than the game at hand. When he was picked up the first evening he said “I want to do that” while pointing to the archery targets. He reiterated this each day of camp. Fast forward to 3rd grade, his parents found a local homeschool archery group, Jackson Metro Homeschool Archery. In Mississippi you typically can not start shooting school archery until 4th grade, where most schools require you to be 6th grade, but the JMHA coaches agreed to let him try it. His first year shooting the Genesis bow with JMHA he was top male shooter for multiple events and was able to attend the State Games of Mississippi (2019) where he placed 3rd overall. This granted him the opportunity to attend the State Games of America in Virginia where he placed 4th overall. This first year of archery cemented his love for the sport.
In February of 2019 he joined Mississippi Archery Academy. While he continues shooting with Jackson Metro Homeschool Archery for the Archery In Mississippi Schools (AIMS) program during the school competition season, he began focusing on State and National ASA 3D and JOAD Target competitions through Mississippi Archery Academy. In February 2021 he started competing nationally in Fixed Pins Compound. Throughout the next two years he competed in the national ASA 3D Pro/Am tour while competing in state ASA 3D and Target events. In August of 2022 he decided to focus strictly on USA Archery Target events and in 2023 attended several USAT events. In 2024 he met his goal of becoming a member of the USA Archery Team. For the 2024 season, Carl earned an impressive 12 medals. With every event he attended he earned at least one medal.
