Carl's Archery Adventures!
"An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming."
Welcome to Carl's Archery Adventures! This site is dedicated to chronicling his journey and passion for this incredible sport.
About Carl
Carl's archery journey began at the tender age of 5 when, while attending a soccer camp, he found himself captivated by the archers practicing in a nearby field. His fascination was immediate and unwavering, and by the end of the camp, he had declared his desire to pursue archery.
Despite being younger than the typical starting age for archery programs in Mississippi, Carl's parents found a local homeschool group, Jackson Metro Homeschool Archery (JMHA), willing to give him a chance. In his first year with JMHA, using a Genesis bow, he excelled, becoming a top male shooter in multiple events. His success led him to the State Games of Mississippi (2019), where he secured an impressive 3rd place overall finish. This achievement further fueled his passion and earned him a spot in the State Games of America in Virginia, where he placed 4th overall.
In February of 2019, Carl joined Mississippi Archery Academy, expanding his archery horizons. While continuing to participate in the Archery In Mississippi Schools (AIMS) program with JMHA, he began to focus on state and national competitions through the Academy, including ASA 3D and JOAD Target events.
By February 2021, Carl was competing nationally in Fixed Pins Compound, participating in the national ASA 3D Pro/Am tour alongside state-level ASA 3D and Target events. In August of 2022, he decided to dedicate himself solely to USA Archery Target events, culminating in his participation in several USAT events in 2023. In 2024, Carl achieved a significant milestone by becoming a member of the USA Archery Team.
